Diary and journal, 1864-1865.

Diary, 1864, of White, beginning with accounts of camp life near City Point, Va., and dwelling on the winter, the flies, drawing of supplies, a trip to Winchester, Ky., where he was on duty for some time, and ending with an account of a trip home. The other volume, part being reminiscences and the remainder a diary, gives a long account of why he, a clerk in New York City, enlisted and what he did during the first part of his enlistment including his first experiences of combat.
